All of my pet portraits are drawn true to photo. As a self-taught artist, I use the grid method to draw out the exact image, then bring the drawing to life with colorful paint. This process can be customized to your liking by making it extremely colorful or closer to the real-life image.

Most paintings take me ~2 weeks to complete.

Welcome to Ashley Mullen Art! I'm a self-taught artist with a deep passion for capturing life's vibrancy and energy through bold acrylics on canvas. Specializing in pet portraits but open to bringing any subject to life, I aim to infuse each painting with a playful, cartoon-like style that’s unique and full of personality. Every piece is created with warmth, heart, and the intention of bringing joy to those who see it.

By day, I work in corporate banking, but art has always been my true passion. Growing up, I was constantly creating, whether it was crafting alongside my mom or immersing myself in art classes throughout high school, where I developed a love for ceramics, sculpture, and drawing. Art has been a constant presence in my life, even when I pursued a different path, earning my Bachelor of Science in Advertising Management, Digital Analytics, and Sales Leadership from Michigan State University in 2018.

In 2020, like many others, I found myself searching for an outlet during the height of the pandemic. That’s when I picked up a paintbrush and created a portrait of my dog—what started as a simple stress-relief activity soon turned into a newfound passion. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of creating commissioned works for friends, family, and fellow pet lovers, capturing special memories one canvas at a time.

Whether I'm surprising loved ones with a meaningful gift, hosting paint nights, or working on custom portraits, art has become my way of spreading joy and sharing moments that matter. Each piece I create is a celebration of life’s color and character.
